Using drywall I created an enlarged picture mat that is empty framing nothing but the wall behind it. I wanted to further unpack the frame, in particular how walls act as a frame or context for what they support. Untitled (collage mat) is painted the same color as the wall it is presented on, causing permeation between the wall and the art. The work is not installed, instead it leans against the wall, in stasis- it could be an artwork that has been placed waiting for installation or part of the wall that is seceding from the space.
